Fromurth is an expansive and diverse world, offering endless possibilities for exploration and discovery. Its most well-documented continent, Karnarass, vividly reflects its geographical span and environmental shifts. In the north, the Hardheim Commonwealth dominates European-inspired landscapes, while the south is home to the Enotemara Güdatan, shaped by Mediterranean and African-inspired climates. The central region, including the Trucehold of Embassra, acts as a cultural and political crossroads, bridging these distinct worlds. Beyond Karnarass, the rest of Fromurth remains shrouded in mystery, with other continents yet to be explored. Their environments, cultures, and civilizations are unknown, leaving vast room for adventure and speculation.
The Hardheim Commonwealth, or Northern Empire, is a federation of multiple European-inspired kingdoms that emerged from centuries of warfare and fragmented rule. Initially, the northern territories were independent and frequently at odds, but rising threats from the south and central regions led to their gradual unification. The Commonwealth was officially established 64 years ago, in 1755 UC, when the Treaty of Hardheim formalized a federated system. Each kingdom retained autonomy but collaborated through the Hardheim Council for mutual defense and governance. Despite modern tensions and regional ambitions, the Commonwealth remains a symbol of northern strength and cooperation.
The Enotemara Güdatan (Southern Empire)
The Enotemara Güdatan, or Southern Empire, is a diverse federation of kingdoms and emirates shaped by Turkic, Arab, Persian, and African influences. Founded 52 years ago, in 1767 UC, through the Council of Güdatan, it unified the southern regions to defend against external threats and internal rivalries. The empire quickly experienced a Golden Age of trade, cultural flourishing, and intellectual achievements, becoming a center of art, science, and diplomacy. Despite internal power struggles between its emirates, the empire maintained a rotating imperial leadership to preserve balance. Though faced with modern pressures for greater autonomy and external threats, the Southern Empire endures, bound by a legacy of cooperation and shared heritage.
Trucehold of Embassra (City-State)
The Trucehold of Embassra is a city-state established 114 years ago, in 1705 UC, as a neutral ground by the kingdoms of the central continent. It was initially intended to be a place where diplomats and envoys could meet and negotiate without the threat of conflict. Over the decades, the city's significant diplomatic influence facilitated both peaceful and wartime mergers of various kingdoms.
The city was founded by several prominent ambassadorial houses, each with a rich history of diplomacy and negotiation. These houses worked together to create a city that embodied the principles of neutrality and cooperation. Over time, these ambassadorial houses merged into a single ruling house, known as the House of Embassra. This ruling house maintained the city's neutral stance while wielding considerable influence over the political landscape of the central continent.
